Logros y avances.

Semillero Darién es un proyecto que nace a comienzos del año 2010, basado principalmente en la confianza, la solidaridad, el trabajo voluntario y en equipo, y con el principal interés de que jóvenes bachilleres de zonas apartadas y marginales de Colombia tuvieran la oportunidad de seguir estudiando.

Inicia con 10 jóvenes, seis hombres y cuatro mujeres, procedentes en su totalidad del municipio de Unguia, corregimiento de Gilgal en el departamento del chocó, estos jóvenes  en su totalidad eran egresados del Instituto Comunitario Regional Alcides Fernández- ICRAF, de Gilgal y con un rango de edad entre 16 y 21 años.

Al inicio el proyecto se creó para beneficiar a Jóvenes del corregimiento de Gilgal únicamente, pero debido a la gran acogida y buenos resultados obtenidos, hemos vinculado a jóvenes de otras regiones y nuestro proyecto es ahora  de orden nacional. En la actualidad, tenemos jóvenes procedentes de diferentes departamentos y egresados de más de diez  (10) instituciones educativas. De los 33 jóvenes beneficiados a la fecha, hemos

ingresado 26 a la Fundación Escuela Taller de Bogotá, de los cuales 14 se han vinculado al taller de Gastronomía, 9 al taller de Construcción y los 3 restantes al taller de Ebanistería; otros 4 jóvenes han ingresado a otras instituciones Universitarias como lo son la Corporación Universitaria la Republicana, la Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, y el Instituto Incap. Otros  jóvenes se han vinculado laboralmente en condiciones dignas en Bogotá.

Los primeros diez jóvenes con los que inicio este sueño, se adaptaron a la ciudad, estudiaron y  son técnicos en las áreas de Gastronomía (4), construcción con énfasis en restauración (4), y Ebanistería (2), es decir se graduaron 10 de 10, lo cual ha representado para nosotros un gran logro y una gran motivación para continuar.

La fundación Semillero Darién tiene en estos momentos la capacidad de alojar a 25 jóvenes, ofreciéndole a cada uno cama,  cobijas, closets y demás beneficios que tienen en la casa estudio.

Tenemos contacto con la International Cultural Youth Exchange ICYE-Colombia, que trae voluntarios de otros países a Colombia y algunos de esos jóvenes les ofrecen clases de inglés a nuestros jóvenes en la sede de la Fundación, también ICYE-Colombia nos dio una beca para que uno de los jóvenes de nuestra fundación viajara a Polonia para un voluntariado de 9 meses, de marzo de 2012 a Noviembre de 2012.

Hemos logrado avances significativos como son:

ü  Aumento de jóvenes beneficiados.

ü  Capacitaciones en ingles

ü  Envío por parte de ICYE-Colombia a un integrante de la Fundación a un voluntariado en Polonia por 9 meses.

Estos avances han sido gracias al apoyo de muchas personas que de buena fe y voluntad han colaborado.

Los costos de mantenimiento y sostenimiento del proyecto han aumentado proporcionalmente de acuerdo al crecimiento del proyecto,  pero confiamos primeramente en Dios que el proyecto seguirá vivo y dando buenos frutos y que más personas se vincularan apoyándonos de una u otra manera. Es nuestro deseo seguir creciendo y beneficiando a más jóvenes que en verdad necesitan esta ayuda y oportunidad.

También es muy grato saber que la escuela taller de Bogotá que es nuestra principal aliada, sigue muy comprometida con nosotros, y es así como para febrero del 2012, logramos ingresar 11 nuevos estudiantes.

Achievements and progress

Seed Darien is a project born in early 2010, based largely on trust, solidarity, voluntary work and in team, with the main interest of young graduates from marginal areas in Colombia had the opportunity to follow studying. It started with 10 young, six men and four women, all from Unguia municipality, village of Gilgal in chocó department, and with an age range between 16 and 21.

Initially the project was created to benefit young only from the township of Gilgal, but due to the great success and good results, we have linked to young people from

other regions and our project is of national order. At present, we have young people from four (4) departments and more than ten (10) different educational institutions. Of the 33 young helped to date, we have entered 26 into the Escuela Taller de Bogota Foundation, of which 14 have been linked to Gastronomy, 9 to construction and the remaining 3 to Woodwork, others 4 young have been admitted to other institutions such as the Republican University Corporation, the Cooperative University of Colombia, and the INCAP Institute. The remaining young have an dignified employment in Bogota.

The first ten young  who start this dream, got adapted to the city, studied and are skilled in the areas of Food (4), construction with emphasis on restoration (4), and Woodwork (2),so all get  graduated, which represents a great achievement for us and a great motivation to continue.

Nowadays the Foundation has the capacity to accommodate 25 young people, giving to each one bed, blankets, closets and the other benefits that they have at the home study.

We have contact with the International Cultural Youth Exchange ICYE-Colombia, which brings volunteers to Colombia from other countries and some of them offer English lessons to our young people at the Foundation´s headquarters, also ICYE-Colombia gave us a grant for one of the youth to travel to Poland for a volunteering during 9 months from March 2012 to November 2012.

We have made ​​significant progress including:

ü  Increase benefited Young.

ü  Training in English.

ü  Sending by ICYE-Colombia to a member of the Foundation for a volunteering in Poland for 9 months.

These advances have been possible thank to the support of many people who in good faith and goodwill have worked.

The costs of maintenance of the project have increased proportionately with the growth of the project, but we trust in God first that the project will remain alive and bearing fruit and that more people will support us. It is our desire to continue growing and benefiting more young people than really need this help and opportunity.

It is also very gratifying to know that the Escuela Taller Foundation which is our main ally, that offers scholarships for our young, is very committed with us, for February 2012 they received 11 new students from us.
